The Inspection

The inspection of your property, by our qualified DEA (Domestic Energy Assessor), will give your home an energy rating, on a scale of A - G, similar to the energy ratings found on some electrical goods.  The inspection is purely a visual inspection that will cause no disturbance to the fabric of your home, and will take between 1 - 2 hours, depending on the size of the property, and will include the following:

  • An external visual inspection of the property

  • Access will be required to gas and electric meter boxes

  • An visual inspection of each room inside the property

  • A visual inspection of the loft space

  • An assessment of the basement or cellar, if one is present

  • Inspection of boilers, central heating systems, controls and hot water cylinders

  • An assessment of the window glazing (single, double or triple glazed)

  • An assessment of any other energy related features -such as solar panels and other renewable energy resources used in the home

You will be asked to complete a questionaire, giving details about the property, including relevant guarantees, certificates, planning and/or building consents for any extensions or alterations carried out. Any further information and documentation about your property and the heating, lighting and insulation will help to assertain your property's energy rating.
