The Energy Performance Certificate (EPC)
An EPC is now a requirement, under European Legeslative Directive, to be produced for all properties put up for sale or rent. It states how energy efficient your home is.
The certificate provides you with a rating for the property; it shows the energy efficiency and the environmental impact on a scale from A - G in the form of a graph. 'A' being the most efficient and 'G' the least efficient. It also includes recommendations for improving the building's energy performance which, if implemented, would be shown as potentia ratings:
